Talking to Your Car
Just because you can talk to your car doesn't mean you should. Two new
studies have found that voice-activated smartphones and dashboard
infotainment systems may be making the distracted-driving problem worse
instead of better. Let us put aside the fact that it is a bit odd to talk to a machine. According to a recent study, the voice activated system can be very distracting because they are so complex. Throw in some internet phone services that are in the cars and we will have even more problems. Of course, the better systems have less issues and are not nearly as distracting but the fact remains that the driver is splitting her attention between driving and talking to the car. Why would anyone want to post to Facebook while driving anyway? And if we really need to send a text message, we can pull off. Do you talk to your car?

With these type of communication services in cars, there is a higher risk of hacking. They are way too distracting anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt might be better if the communication services were used in driverless cars. People would be able to get a lot more done.
ReplyDeleteIf you need to text someone or use a mobile application, it is just better to pull off. You should set your GPS before hitting the gas pedal.
ReplyDeleteInternet phones are great for businesses because it will make it appear much bigger. It needs to be used with some common sense though.
